Nobody said this would be easy.

And they were right.

After a decade of rarely paralleled success, the McCook football program entered the 2009 season needing to fill 20 of 22 starting spots and replace four all-staters from last year's 11-1 team, one which was ranked No. 1 all season long until losing to eventual champion Aurora in the playoff semifinals.
